We are recruiting bachata instructors!

Aspiring to become a bachata instructor? Keen to join our DMI family of instructors? Here is your chance!

For the first time ever, we launch an open call for experienced dancers who would like to step into the world of teaching. We help pave your way to instructorship first with a warm-up phase, followed by a second more in-depth training phase

Phase 1 – A Familiarisation Course

We kickstart your journey with a short get-to-know-each-other course. The aim of this course is for you determine whether instructing is for you, for us to get to know each other better, and to have some fun in the process!

Held over 4 lessons, this course will cover (but is not limited to):
– Understanding different learners
– Breaking down and translating techniques
– Correcting and encouraging
– Leading a class with confidence and poise
– Working on individual basic dance skills and fundamentals

We would also encourage you, in this period, to immerse yourself in our dance community, understand our vibes and work on your own dancing with us!

Training to become an instructor with us will require a fair bit of commitment, both on your end, and ours too. With this familiarisation course, we’d hope to help both us and you to determine whether this is a suitable path for you.

Phase 2 – Customised in-depth and on-the-job training

This next stage would be for all eligible trainees to proceed into the next, more customised phase of training. More information will be provided during the phase 1 Familiarisation course.

At least 1 year of bachata experience
